Let’s grow together!
Connie Cao
Connie Cao (@connieandluna) is a urban permaculture gardener, homesteader, photographer and digital content creator. In her backyard, she grows a garden full of veggies, fruits, berries, cut flowers and beneficial plants. She believes that any-sized space can become a garden and encourages everyone to embrace the imperfect perfection of nature. She focuses on small-space friendly plants and loves to create productive, beautiful and sustainable gardens.
Mel Logozzo
Mel Logozzo (@rewildingsuburbia) had dreams of a food forest when she moved into her current home but now she has a mini wildlife forest. Her aim was to create a place of high biodiversity with something in flower all year round, to benefit both the wider community and her own garden.
Since she started monitoring the wildlife in her garden she has spotted hundreds of species, including resin bees that nest in holes in timber, leafcutter bees that line their nests with carefully clipped circles of pear leaf, blue-banded bees that pollinate tomatoes and eggplants in her vegie patch, cuckoo bees that lay eggs in the blue-banded bee nests, masked bees and a lot of ground-nesting bees.
This ecosystem means she has fewer pests and better crops in return.
